The Mauve Sky is based on the comic character Belize, a former drag queen in the HBO series Angels in America by Tony Kushner. A must see series. Oppressive, haunting, but yet not entirely deprived from hope. This series is about the emergence of AIDS in New York in the 80's. Belize symbolises hope and adds a light touch to the movie.
