Muistot Orchestra captures the stories and emotions of everyday life and puts them into melodies. The soulful voice of Johanna Sulkunen is accompanied by soundscapes ranging from minimalism to rocky overdrive. The international band consists of top jazz musicians from around Europe.
The five musicians of Muistot Orchestra share the same vision and open-mindedness in music adding original elements from different cultural backgrounds.
The Finnish members of the band, Johanna Sulkunen, Tapani Toivanen and Santeri Sulkunen have a long musical history together. Their Scandinavian roots and their interest in making new sounds mixing jazz and pop is combined with the creative percussion playing of Ulas Aksunger. The Dutch connection is Iman Spaargaren, Netherlands, who mixes in jazz in its purest sense straight from the frontlines of the European jazz scene.
